Okay, if by some bizarre, screwball chance you haven’t heard about The Amazing Screw-On Head, you should follow that link RIGHT NOW and watch it. I want this pilot to spawn a series, and that means everyone needs to see it. Yes, I’m talking to you. See it, do the questionnaire, and we all go home happy (except me, since I’m already at home). I need to see some Mike Mignola-style artwork on my TV, darn it! Oh, right, I don’t get the Sci-Fi channel. Well, then, I need this series to run long enough for Teletoon or Space to pick it up! Yeah!

Okay, I’ll settle for DVD. But I want this to succeed! (So I know it can’t, because that’s how the universe works).

Almost eerie

Wow. In just a couple of days, I watched Dead Stop (Ent) and read Rurouni Kenshin vol. 24. Similar plot points in both (mere coincidence, I’m sure), but whoa. The Enterprise episode had already been spoiled by the presence of the Reset Button, but Watsuki caught me way off guard. After Kenshin wraps up I’ll definitely have to check out his other works. Gutsy writing, something I’ll have to remember down the road. And the weapons.. I’ll never get over the weapons of Kenshin. Schlock Mercenary may have some cool high-tech stuff (and I love it as well.. hey, it’s got something in common with both of the other works mentioned here, how odd!), but Kenshin’s low-tech Meiji Era weaponry is amazing. Gein in particular gets to show off some nice new gear in this Kenshin installment. Read it.
